John,
I am writing to express my deep concern about the proposed sell off of the site in Brewood which will lead to demolition of the Scout hut and the eviction of the Scouts.
The group has been on the current site for some 40 years, and over 100 local children use this valuable community facility. The hut is used every night of the week and most weekends.
As a keen member of the scouts during my youth I cannot stress enough of the importance of having a group in Brewood. The Scouts offer moral guidance, self discipline and self reliance and builds citizens for the future of our country.
At a time when youth behaviour is so high on the political agenda I find it difficult to comprehend why you would with to close down a local scout group.
I understand that the subject is on the agenda for tomorrows council meeting, I cannot reiterate enough how important the facility is for young people in Brewood and the surrounding area.

I was totally shocked and highly concerned to hear that the council are proposing to knock down Brewood Scout hut.
I have lived in Brewood most of my 32 years and recently moved back with my now husband two years ago.
One of the main factors for returning is the sense of community Brewood offers. A fantastic place to bring up a family etc… I am very passionate about the scout/guide movements having been a brownie/guide/venture scout at Brewood. It is vital that this proposal DOES NOT go ahead!
What do we need to do to make sure it doesn’t…. tie ourselves to the hut I think!!!
