Brewood Cycle Challenge 2012 a great success

11 June 2012

Almost 400 riders took place in this years event organised by the Brewood Scout Fundraisers.

The weather held up and the riders of all shapes and sizes rode either a 100km or a 60km course. It really was a great family event with live music hot food and drinks and even a treasure hunt around the village for the smaller ones.

A big thank you goes to St Dominics school for loaning the school grounds and kitchen for our start and finish venue the Stafford amateur radio team for the setting up the race communications, the scouts and explorers for manning check points and not least to the members of the BSF for their superb organisation and dedication in running the event.

Starting the race this year was Beccy Jones-Reading the scout leader who has been chosen to carry the Olympic torch through Wolverhampton at the end of the month, keep checking on the website for details of her route.

Well done to all those who took part we hope to see you again next year.

Next years event is on the 8th June 2013 so put it in your calendar today!
